These bespoke sessions focus on small scale woodworking projects of your design. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to intermediate level makers. Some occasions to consider, for inspiration:
What are the sessions like?
You’ll learn the basics of wood technology, timber and the steps in the making process. Depending on the project we’ll focus on traditional joints such as dovetails and mortise & tenon. You’ll gain experience and confidence using basic hand tools and some hand held power tools (all provided). I’ll also demonstrate for you the mechanics of such stationary machinery as the table saw, thicknesser, surface planer and belt sander.
Location and timings
The sessions are held at the shared workshop of the Vakvrouwen Collective in the Spaarndammerbuurt neighbourhood of Amsterdam. Pricing, schedule and number of sessions will depend on the project, the material, your experience level and how in depth you want to go. We can work together over several weeks or more intensively over a few days.
Cost Overview
As an example, the cost for fabricating a small piece of bespoke furniture (such as a stool or bedside table) with one or two people would start at approximately €600 EUR, excluding BTW and the cost of materials and finish.
